I know I’m not the only one who in 2020, was inspired to engage more with our wonderful community. I know this because I saw kind sharks brightening the days of strangers during the onset of the pandemic. I saw volunteers step up and donors give generously. I saw people rallying around our small businesses (Genée West and Dorothy Cameron De Nigris, to name just a few). And I watched in amazement as crucial, impactful Bethel events like The Scotty Gala and Relay for Life were reimagined.
I saw all of this and I was amazed, moved, and inspired. The Bethel Grapevine was born from gratitude: gratitude for our community and its resiliency and mutual support during some of our hardest years. And this gratitude has sustained us throughout The Grapevine’s first year.
One year later, we are proud to have published over 70 articles, sponsored many community events, raised money for The Scotty Fund on our For Goodness’ Sake page, updated a daily calendar of local events, and had, on average, over two-thousand visits to our site each month.
To our readers and supporters, we thank you.
As a token of our gratitude for your support through subscribing to The Grapevine and following us on Facebook and Instagram, we are offering you a free, limited-edition Bethel Grapevine car/refrigerator magnet (while supplies last). Please send an email to info@bethelgrapevine.com with “Free Magnet” in the subject line, include your name and address, and we will mail one out to you as soon as possible!
We are proud to continue offering you our unique, periodic, special interest columns, like Bygone Bethel, Bites of Bethel, Nature's Nooks, and Ask the Vet, just to name a few.
We look forward to working with you on another year of new, hyperlocal content. May the coming years be ever happier and healthier. And may we continue to grow as a supportive, inclusive, loving, and resilient community.
In perpetual gratitude,
Hannah Lipman
Managing Editor, The Bethel Grapevine
